Trade Wallace Now!

This guy sucks! I have seen all I need to. Is there anyway they can package him in a deal or something? I don't think this will work anymore. He was thinking of signing with the Spurs did anyone read this? His contract is way to big for such little production. That Chandler deal is looking really bad now except that Browns contract is up. So here goes.... Wallace, Sweetney,Duhon,Brown,..1st Round draft pick I guess these would be logical trade bait. Doubt they would get any takers.

I have come up with this... Who should stay and who should go list.

Who should stay.

Skiles... Love the head band rule. Love how he didn't bend it for Ben ''the Fraud'' Wallace.
Deng... He's good.
Nocioni..... He's the man but less shrugging after fouls please. Man up and act like its no big thing.
Hinrich..... I was really losing it with him during this trip but I know he's better.
Gordon....can't find a hot hand who can take over games. Needs to be consistant maybe never will. I keep him around.
Tyrus/Sefo....future starters but ty must bulk up and play more 4 spot.

Everyone else is trade bait to me. Trade them for draft picks or whatever I don't care. Well I do, a big that can score would be nice.

Deep down seeing Wallace in a Bulls Uni never seemed right and Im not sure it ever will. Only time will tell.

I owe my friend
$100.  I bet it would take 20 games to get trading Wallace to come up.  It only took 13.  Keep the faith, my friend.
Hinrich, Deng, Wallace for All-Star 2007!!!!!

Wow I just looked at a pic of Wallace
his legs are like not very well developed.

I guess I can see`
where firing an NBA coach can seem like an answer to some because of the high turnover for coaches, but big money players rarely get traded.

You're welcome,
Captain Obvious

Head band /head case
The head band seems silly except for the context in which it became an issue. For a co-captain to challenge the authority of the head coach during a game and in a manner that everyone including fans and media could see is unforgivable. Unless he makes a prominent public apology for his selfish inappropriate behavior, Paxson should seek to trade him as quickly as possible for whatever he can get. They would be better off with Allen and Sweetney as their center rotation.

by Incognito on Nov 26, 2006 12:16 PM CST   0 recs

Unforgivable?
It's a freakin headband! Let me hop in my Delorean with a Bulls bumper sticker: Dennis Rodman kicked some poor guy in the nuts, Pippen refused to go into a game, and Jordan enjoyed punching teamates. All those incidents were glossed over, forgiven, and forgotten by fans, maybe not those heroic columnists who refuse to let the past die, but this current player/coach headband tiff doesn't really compare.

by Paxson Jackson on Nov 26, 2006 12:43 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

agreed
If they win, this doesn't matter. And I'm far more concerned with Wallace's lackluster play than his headgear preferences.

Hopefully Mariotti will have a bears column in the bag Sunday night so he won't feel the need to address this 'controversy'

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Nov 26, 2006 2:09 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

Disagree
Pippens refusal to go in a game, Jordans punching a teamate and Rodmans nut kick were spontaneous emotional reactions and only Pippen's challenged the coach. Wallace obviously pre-planned this insubordination and given his co-captain status and the fact that he is supposed to come in
(with a 60M contract) as a role model for the younger players, I think this is a major issue and could evolve into a disaster.

Ick!
I didn't like that at all. I remember seeing Ben wearing the arm bands last night too.

Sarcasm?
I know it seems like a silly thing but if Ben Wallace is going to challenge the authority of Skiles, then this team is headed for trouble.

by Incognito on Nov 26, 2006 6:34 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

I agree
with you. I meant I didn't like the tone of the article. If Skiles and Wallace are at odds it will affect this team and not in a good way.

Wow
Is Ben unhappy in Chicago? Yes, he is. He's not throwing in the towel, but the transition hasn't been pleasant. When Skiles and John Paxson came to Ben's house over the summer to make their recruiting pitch, Ben asked Skiles point-blank if there was anything he needed to know about him, his coaching style or his personal preferences. Skiles told him no, he loved Ben just as he was. But the minute Ben signed thIs Ben unhappy in Chicago? But the minute Ben signed the contract, Skiles pulled him aside and told him that he could no longer wear the headbands and arm bands that had been his trademark in Detroit. Strike one.

If that's true, than Skiles is a moron who deserves any problems he might have with Wallace.

by Big D on Nov 26, 2006 5:09 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

that can't be true
The writer is an idiot if he thinks that the second after the contract was signed Skiles pulled him aside and said "no headbands."  That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard and there is no way that happened.  He's making it up, or at least greatly exagerating, to make a better story, or bolster his told-you-so-ism.

Wallace or his agent must be a complete moron, if he didn't know that Skiles didn't allow headbands before he signed the contract.  They likewise would have been complete morons to refuse to sign a $60 mill contract because of some stupid piece of elastic and terry cloth that isn't even necessary.

I'm sick of my name, damn gwkd.

by GWKD on Nov 26, 2006 5:15 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

That did sound questionable
I never read this dude before but when he starts off by saying 'I said they'd be clashing by thanksgiving' it's not a good impression.

I can't imagine if Ben asked 'is there anything I should know?' that Skiles/Pax thought anything about freaking headbands. If they thought it was even worth mentioning they probably would've taken their jeans-wearing-ass back home.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Nov 26, 2006 7:27 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

Thank goodness
you aren't the coach or GM. Jeeze guys give them a chance to work things out. I'm sure it will be somewhat of a distraction for the team but I think it will be taken care of quickly.
Thabo....the accent is sweet!!

he should have written "stern" on it.
as an homage to Jim McMahon's "roselle" headband-gate.

Lebron James wears a headband
Would you not want him on your team, joejoe?

by Big D on Nov 26, 2006 3:57 PM CST   0 recs

i'm
withholding judgment on this one.  if wallace turns out to be a moody prick (like he looks like right now), he has to go (which is perhaps what he's angling for).  to overstate the obvious (to me at least), wallace isn't too pleased with things right now, including his second half benching this week, so instead of acting like a man and sucking it up, he premeditates a conflict with his coach, trying to alienate himself from this coach and his teammates... and perhaps angling to be traded 13 games into his bulls career.

...or, some may argue that wallace's headband and hairstyles gives him magical samson-like powers... perhaps a few extra inches of vertical, or at the very least something to keep the sweat out of his muscular eyes...

my guess would be the former.

by leeac on Nov 26, 2006 4:53 PM CST   0 recs

Who would trade for him?
I agree with you, it looks like he wants to be traded. The problem is that no one is going to want that contract so the bulls would need to absorb a large portion of the contract in a trade if that can even be structured. Unfortunately if he really wants to go, I don't think the Bulls have any choice. They can't allow an attitude problem to exsist on this team. We need highly motivated players who over achieve, not sulk.

by Incognito on Nov 26, 2006 6:39 PM CST   0 recs

Contracts have to match
in NBA trades. This isn't MLB.

by Paxson Jackson on Nov 26, 2006 7:09 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

and what part of
H-E-A-D-B-A-N-D has anything to do with a desire to be traded? Demanding to be traded is a little more forward and not at all uncommon.

by Paxson Jackson on Nov 26, 2006 7:16 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

what part
of $60m gives someone the right to publicly show up his coach?  if reading between the lines is not allowed in paxon jackson's world, then ben wallace must really love his headbands.

by leeac on Nov 27, 2006 9:05 AM CST to parent up   0 recs

Exactly
It's easy to talk about trading Wallace, but actually doing it would be incredibly difficult.  He's got a huge contract; how many teams would even want to take it on?  Of those that would want to, how many of them would be willing to give up a player with an equal salary that we'd even want?  Forget about putting Wallace in a package for Kevin Garnett; if Minnesota were ready to trade Garnett, that would mean they'd be rebuilding.  Why would they want to take Wallace's huge long-term contract on if they're rebuilding?  Like it or not, we're stuck with Wallace, and Skiles probably isn't going anywhere either (unless the Bulls keep losing), so they better learn to get along.

by Big D on Nov 26, 2006 7:16 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

I think Skiles needs to stop tripping so much
Listen Skiles is a good coach put he has to stop his power tripping. That's what happened to him in Phoenix. He should treat Wallace like a man and Ben should act like a man as well. They are adults. Period. Put Egos aside and win some freakin games. I wish we had signed Mohammed instead of Wallace. Wallace though is a good player, just give the Bulls time

ENERGY
See subject line ^^  That is what this is about.  Its not about headbands, its not about Skiles. Its about a complete lack of energy.  Everyone is guilty.  Perhaps w/ the exception of Du.. And even that is not a good thing, because Skiles keeps giving him way too many minutes because of this.

Wallace is a baby
NBA players are notorious for wearing headbands, so if a team has a policy of not wearing them I'm sure it is known among all NBA players.  It's pretty clear he knew what he was getting into and he went ahead and signed the contract.  If he wants his SIXTY MILLION dollars, he should stop wearing his headband per the team rule and play his hardest.  It's ironic that after the Miami win, he was saying how much he likes the team.  Now everyone's struggling and this comes to a boil.  In Detroit, Big Ben overachieved and was underpaid.  I'm concerned we will have a long four years of the opposite.

by No bull on Nov 26, 2006 8:26 PM CST   0 recs

heh...
NBA players are notorious for wearing headbands...

I think I have to go with tennis pros on that one.

Damn tennis players
They're all a bunch of thugs and gangbangers.

by Big D on Nov 26, 2006 8:44 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

Wallace is nothing they said he would be.
I don't care about headbands, I just don't think the dude fits in here he sulks when things get tough. So does PJ Brown. Tyson was a decent player for us.

by joejoeEnglish94bulls4ever on Nov 26, 2006 10:57 PM CST to parent up   0 recs

Paxson
Give Pax a chance tp fix this. I ain't going to worry about this until Paxson talks to both of them.

by Option27 on Nov 27, 2006 10:26 AM CST   0 recs

Whatever happens...
Ben Wallace WILL work out here in Chicago.  As soon as he has his first big game, as soon as the Bulls get on a roll, this will all be a non-issue.

I do think, though, that he needs to be punished for showing up the team in front of the public like he did.  He should know better (co-captain?), and that was exTREMEly unprofessional.

But even if the Bulls are overpaying him (probably), and even if he's declining in ability (probably), he can still fit in with what the Bulls are trying to do.  Even if it takes another year or sooner (via trade) to get another big man (Hopefully big = Taller than 6'9"), Ben will be a valu-bull part of this organization.

The Bulls do need to address this immediately, as any further falling out between Wallace and Skiles would be devastating to everything Paxon has put together over the last 3 years.

Just a side note, but it really bothers me that Wallace has such an issue with the team rules; everyone else on the teams follows them...and none of them seem unreasonable...I guess I just don't get why it's such a big deal to him.

Ben Gordon = Trade Bait

by raalickeller on Nov 27, 2006 12:17 PM CST   0 recs

If Jerry Krause...
had hired Scott Skiles, signed Ben Wallace, and traded Tyson Chandler for PJ Brown, 90% of this board would be calling for his head...or stomach.  It's time to get off the Pax Forever bandwagon.  Time will tell as to whether his moves bring a championship, but as it looks right now, he's going to have to deal alot of talent and take a big risk to make that happen
